This gorgeous Medusa is a combination of mirror and the most amazing iridescent purple glass! The snake’s heads are a gold iridescent purple, while the snake bodies are a silver iridescent purple. When light shines THROUGH the piece, the snakes are purple, when light shines ON the piece it is mirror-like and iridescent. She measures 7 1/2 inches tall and 7 1/2 inches wide.

The story of Medusa: Medusa was a beautiful mortal woman minding her own business in the temple of Athena when Poseidon, taken by her beauty (particularly her hair) decided to he had to have her, regardless of her own opinion. Athena was so mad that her temple was defiled that she took revenge….on Medusa. She turned her gorgeous hair to snakes and made her into a monster whose gaze turned men to stone. Then later, when Medusa was again minding her own business, Perseus comes along and cuts off her head so he can marry a kings daughter.
